It was another unbelievable night of fighting here in St Louis this past Saturday. June has been a fight fans fantasy with Strikeforce here on June 6th, and two weeks later Shamrock Promotions packed the house at the Viking Hotel for the up and comers to continue to build their names in the Battles for Fame. Maybe the most impressive fight of the night belong to Rashard Lovelace as the 19 year old took all of 17 seconds to submit Mike Bryant in a guillotine choke. Mike Finnegan had a hard act to follow as his brother got engaged right before his fight. Then Finnegan went into the second round before getting the best of Josh Selby by way of guillotine choke. Also going 2 rounds was the nights main event where “The Natural” Adam Cella remained undefeated in MMA with a defeat of Kevin Allen who got caught in an arm bar just under a minute into round two. The rest of the MMA matches were all settled in the first round starting off with Art Fuller’s impressive victory over Malshon Ball by way of rear naked choke. Ryan Bensinger continued his winning ways as he too was able to beat Jim Cordes by rear naked choke in round one. Mike Harris dropped the hammer on Damon Herale as Herale tapped just over a minute in the first round due to strikes. Also working the ground and pound was Jimmy Bacon as he fried Adam Couch getting him to tap out in the first due to strikes. As always, Shamrock Promotions delivered something for everyone. Fans got to see the one they call “The Zach Attack” do damage in a boxing match where Zach Skow defeated Shawn Williams by a unanimous decision. In Kickboxing it was too close to call as Zane Schmidt and Bobby Badacheletti found to a majority draw. John Duever known more for his MMA fights than his kickboxing fights went head to head with Mike Foster in a kickboxing bout that saw Foster win by a unanimous decision. For the first time ever at a Shamrock Promotions event two fighters got into the ring for a two round grappling contest. No kicking, no punching but plenty of action as Rich Burt defeated Joe Tobias by unanimous decision. We hope to see you at the next fights on July 24th. Here are the official results from the night.
