Fighter Development
Shamrock Promotions and Finney’s MMA Fighter Development System
The fighter development system we created to help our fighters develop the skills it takes to make it in the world of Mixed Martial Arts. Until 2008, professional MMA wasn’t legal in the State of Missouri. So our fighters were able to develop into great fighters by fighting on events that were comparable to pro events. Now that professional MMA is legalized we have developed a system to help fighters develop their skills to become top fighters.
This system mirrors that of Major League Baseball, where players start at a development league and move up based on their skills and performance. The Shamrock Development System or SDS, does the same. Fighters start out fighting in a smaller venue and work their way up into the professional level events. We are able to do this because of the amount of events we promoter and also the affiliations we have established with various professional MMA companies. See below for the breakdowns of the SDS.

The Battle’s for Fame is a starter league for fighters starting out, hence the name. This event is held at the Viking Hotel and Conference Center in St. Louis, MO. Fighters with under 5 fights will start here and develop their skills in the ring, also learning how to perform in front of a crowd. This event holds 700 people, and 90% of them selling out it’s a way fight the fighters to learn what it takes to be a crowd favorite.
The second tier is the Xtreme Fight Party. This event is held 4 times a year and is for fighters who are ready to make a move and truly are looking for a career in MMA. This event is held at the Stratford Inn and gets an average 1200 spectators. The fighters are involved in video interviews, elevated entrance ramps and televised video screens of the fights. The Extreme Fight Party also is for professional fighters starting out. We are able promote through a partnership that will get new professionals the experience and fights they need before moving to the next step.

For the top fighters we are now affliated with Strike Force (www.strikeforce.com). They have events on Showtime and NBC. The top fighters who perform in the X-Fights move into Strike Force where they become some of the house hold names in MMA.
