  • This past weekend Finney’s MMA and Shamrock Promotions were all over the Midwest for fights. On Friday night, The X-Fights were in Kansas City, MO. Shamrock Promotions is contracted to run all the operations for Extreme Productions. Also in Kansas City Tom Aaron took on veteran Bobby Volker in the main event. This fight was one that everyone has wanted to see. Volker defeated Tom by TKO in the second round. Other in Action this weekend was Kevin Engel and Mike Green. Engel was getting back into the ring after a couple of month layoff, and pulled out a TKO win in the 4th round improving to 16-2. Green was in action in St. Louis looking to extend his win streak. Green lost in the 3rd round due to ground and pound. From Kansas City to Decatur, IL. Shamrock Promotions co-promoted the Round 1 Fight Night for Devore Academy on Saturday night. The MC, live event, and back stage were all ran by Shamrock Promotions.

  • The Xtreme Fight League came to St Louis on Saturday, and it was a night of knock outs and submissions. Fans got their money worth. Some of the more notable fights included Jimmy Donahue getting back to his winning ways by defeating Micah Riley by way of an arm bar in the first round. “Mean” Mike Green made it two in a row, as it took two rounds for Green to catch Mike Foster in his signature triangle choke. Jeremy Fernandez had a successful debut to the Octagon as Josh Selby was submitted at 2:19 of the 1st round by rear naked choke. “The Wrecking ball” John Duever made short work of Mike Bryant submitting him with a triangle choke 50 seconds into the 1st round.
    As always with Shamrock Promotions, you get a little bit of everything, and Saturday night was no different. In the world of kickboxing, it was the long anticipated fight between Brittany Anic and Rachel Munro, and this one did not disappoint. It took all three rounds, and all three judges saw it the same way. A unamimous decision in favor of the teenage sensation “Bad” Brittany Anic. More Results to follow.
    Next on tap for Shamrock Promotions and the fighters at Finney’s MMA is the Strike Force card coming up on June 6th at the Scott Trade Center. Jesse Finney and Pat Benson are a couple local fighters who will be getting in the cage that night in the biggest fight of their lives. Finney will fight Josh Bumgarner, as one of these fighters will taste defeat for the first time im their pro career.   • The Battle’s for Fame recorded another great night of fights this past Saturday night at the Viking Hotel. The mixture of kickboxing, boxing, and MMA has proved to be a great combination for the St. Louis fight fans. The night started off with a women’s boxing match, which set the tone for the rest of the night. In the kickboxing main event “Bad” Brittany Anic defeated Roni Lawrence for the second time in 3 months. Anic will face Rachel Munro on May 9th at the Stratford Inn. The last part of the night feature some of the top fighters in MMA from around St. Louis. Mike Green and Ryan Bensinger proved they are both are top fighters in their weight classes.     Battles for Fame “The Fighting Chronicles Returns” April 11 2009

    St. louis, MO(USA) - The Battles for Fame is excited to announce its return to the Viking Hotel and Conference Center in Sunset Hills, MO on Saturday April 11. The hard-hitting action will feature many of the rising stars in the sport of mixed martial arts.

    Headlining the event will be MMA standout Jimmy Donahue. Donahue is a World Combat League veteran and also is undefeated in his MMA career. John Davis will be returning to the ring after a short time off. He is more ready than ever! Also in Action will be Mike Green a tough fighter with more than 30 fights. THe kickboxing main event will feature “Bad” Brittany Anic. Brittany has been fighting for 9 years and is a bright star to watch for in the future.
